Music Groups and Bands

Do you want to apply for new gigs? Or just an image film for your website? The easiest way is to record a small "gig" of 3-4 songs in the studio and summarize the highlights in a 3-minute video.

Audience (20 – 50 people) can be present.

Process

The process is very individual and can be adapted to your wishes and requirements.
Basically, there are 2 possibilities:

Live Recording
Sound and image are recorded directly and optimized and edited afterwards. After recording, all options including overdubs are available to us. Here, an audience can easily be present for the LIVE feeling and the video images. Several runs per title are possible depending on the patience of the fans in the room.

Pre-Recording
First, we make a completely normal AUDIO !! studio recording with all technical possibilities until the recordings meet your requirements. Then we set up a setup on stage, but without using the audio outputs. (Full Playback) The songs come from the monitor system as orientation. Then we can record the video images to the audio file in peace. All technical video possibilities are available, such as camera movements with dolly or rails, drone flights, etc. The video image recordings do not necessarily have to take place on the stage in the studio. Here, an audience is rather unusual. But fans can still be there. However, they should be aware of their role, because they are not going to a small concert but have an active role in the production.
And ... We are independent of the video location!

Lightshow

If you attach great importance to a coordinated light show, then you have the opportunity to program an individual show in advance. Several moving heads, LED bars, LED spotlights, a laser, hazer etc. are available, and for control either a WOLFMIX W1 or a PC with DASLIGHT 5.

Audio

During Live Recording, recordings are made with up to 32 tracks, independent of the PA sound, which gets its own mix. The audience in the hall are not just extras, but should also have an optimal sound experience. In-Ear Monitoring is best here, but you should of course feel comfortable and we can also use one or the other monitor box. Technically, we always go with DI outputs into the desk if possible, even if the killer guitar sound only comes via the guitar amp speaker. If that is a knockout criterion, we use the Kemper and preserve the unique sounds beforehand as individual Kemper Rigs. For the drums, you can use a Roland TD30 or of course mic up your beloved acoustic set.

The individual tracks are then available for further processing as a multi-track project and can be optimized with overdubs, effects, and mastering.

With Pre-Recording, there are no restrictions regarding monitoring, microphone recordings etc, because we first make a completely normal audio recording, which we then edit completely and then use as a monitor for the video recording.

Video

Especially here, the planned process is crucial for the video possibilities. Live Recording: With this type, it makes sense to staff at least one camera with a cameraman or camerawoman. All other cameras are placed as desired and later synchronized with the other cameras for multi-cam editing.

Pre-Recording

Here, depending on the budget and planned effort, there are no limits. Camera movements with dolly etc. are possible. With several video passes (takes) of the same title, we just have to make sure that the musicians' outfits do not change during the takes.... like e.g. the singer's sunglasses disappearing as if by magic when cutting to another take ....

In addition, we have all technical possibilities to shoot a music video with existing music track. Imagine the musicians are in the middle of the room and the cameras always drive in a circle around the musicians, or the piano player surrounded by candles and a camera approaches with a camera movement from above...

Effort

As always, there are several alternatives here:

Minimal Effort
We use up to 4 fixed cameras for live recording, i.e. without a cameraman.
Audio recording is done with up to 32 tracks.
The light show is compiled from existing presets. Multiple takes are possible.
Post-processing of audio and video material can be designed according to taste and budget.
We are also happy to hand over the RAW material and footage for post-processing on your own.

Normal Effort

We use up to 5 fixed cameras and one with a cameraman.

Pro Video
The Sky is the limit

Equipment

The mixing console is a Presonus 32R mixer as a stage box or complete mixer.
The PA from KS Audio with CPD1 and CPD B2 or KS Audio Session are completely sufficient to produce a crystal clear powerful sound in the studio.
The cameras are from Blackmagic (Pocket Cinema 4k) as well as Panasonic (GH 4 4K) and Sony (Alpha 7 SII and Alpha 7RV) each with numerous lenses.
Technicians can of course also be from you and do not have to be employed by us.

Planning

The more elaborate and complex such a project is intended to be, the more intensive the previous planning must be. To get a first impression of the effort, result and costs, it makes sense that we have a phone call or a meeting beforehand. Of course, there are no costs for this.
